Overview

We are seeking a mission-drivenData Scientistto support the sustainment and optimization of medical devices and equipment across Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs). This role involves on-site assessments, data analysis, and collaboration with healthcare and logistics professionals to enhance clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to MTFs to assess the condition, replacement needs, or upgrade potential of Medical Devices and Equipment (MDE).
  • Review and analyze clinical and operational data to support decision-making for hospital staff and modality managers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to align on data-driven strategies.
  • Participate in clinic and industry site visits, conferences, and present findings as needed.
  • Interpret medical terminology and diagnoses to ensure database accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop medical algorithms to model clinical pathways and resource utilization.
  • Identify and assess practice variations to improve medical workflows.
  • Provide guidance on medical informatics and data governance.
  • Standardize and document analytics workflows and operational procedures.
  • Optimize dashboards for performance, usability, and data refresh cycles.
  • Develop reusable datasets with appropriate access controls.
  • Report monthly on dashboard performance, usage metrics, and issue resolution.
  • Track and report team training progress and skill development.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for analytics process automation.

Qualifications

  • Active Public Trust Clearance (Secret Clearance preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in a medical, scientific, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical data applications or research
  • Experience in:
  • Medical Device Sustainment
  • Requirements Management
  • Property Accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading Health Technology Management (HTM) programs
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition and project management principles
  • Proficiency with:
  • Joint Medical Asset Repository (JMAR)
  • Enterprise Intelligence and Data Solutions (EIDS) tools (e.g., Tableau, Python)
  • Experience with:
  • ERP systems for defense medical logistics and financial management
  • Medical supply and equipment procurement data

Basic Compensation: $100,000- $170,000 yearly salary

The salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. We do not use salary history to determine compensation, in line with applicable law.
