Title: Director, Global Cash Equities & US Equities COO - New York, NY

Overview

Contributes to the success of the COO team in the US by ensuring the execution of individual goals, plans, and initiatives aligned with business strategies. Ensures all activities comply with regulations, policies, and procedures.

Manages non-trading/sales elements for Regional and Global Equities (including Cash, Electronic Execution, Convertible Bonds, US Derivatives) and US and LatAm Research. Oversees technology platform enhancements, implements new technology, develops financial statements/MIS, creates funding models, and supervises operational improvements and process changes.

What You'll Do

  • Foster a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Strategy
  • Drive annual strategic planning; collaborate with desk heads and support partners; align regional plans with global strategies.
  • Translate high-level strategies into tangible deliverables; lead execution of initiatives, infrastructure projects, and stakeholder management.
  • Identify and design strategic initiatives based on market and business insights, present business cases for support.
  • Business Management
  • Prioritize and lead cross-functional initiatives; manage virtual teams to achieve goals.
  • Deepen client relationships, support business activities, and drive performance.
  • Develop and execute Business Continuity and Return-to-Work Plans.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests; prepare meaningful business commentary for meetings, committees, and regulatory forums.
  • Regulatory and Controls
  • Strengthen control environment; promote governance adherence and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure responses to regulatory requests are accurate; promote efficiencies in control processes.
  • Business Head Support
  • Support US GCM business leaders; act as delegate in key forums and decisions.
  • Build relationships with desk heads; understand strategic priorities and emerging risks.
  • People
  • Drive a high-performance, inclusive culture; support hiring, onboarding, and development.
  • Financials
  • Support planning, drive MI and commentary enhancements, understand business drivers, and manage costs.

Ensure activities align with the bank's risk appetite and culture, and operate within a strong control framework to meet operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.

What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of GCM businesses
  • Strong work ethic and ability to independently manage major programs.
  • Risk and controls mindset; proactive and collaborative leadership style.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to synthesize large information sets.
  • Prioritization skills; relationship-building across groups.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
