Overview:
*Must have a City of Buffalo Chief Stationary Engineer License or a First Class License with eligibility and willingness to obtain the Chief's license within 6 months.
Supervises maintenance of the Bank's real estate through assigned employees and/or contracted staff to ensure a safe and efficient workplace and banking environment for customers, employees, and tenants. Oversees maintenance activities in the Bank's Real Estate portfolio, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise mechanics and oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, structural components, and problem resolution.
- Assist Property Management with managing the bid process and overseeing capital and/or expense projects within the regional assignment.
- Assist management with long-range planning and administration of occupancy, operating, and capital budgets within a given region.
- Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities of outsourced maintenance staff, janitorial/porter services, and other contracted services and trades.
- Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and structural components.
- Work with building occupants to coordinate repairs and minimize disruption, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Schedule and coordinate incoming service requests and work orders.
- Exercise managerial authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk. Escalate risk-related issues to management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and addressing issues raised by external regulators.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Oversees maintenance for assigned properties, including contract personnel management.
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or relevant vocational trade school and at least 4 years' property management experience.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Strong electrical and mechanical background.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building trades.
- Knowledge of power tools and test equipment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with personal computers.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience reading blueprints and schematic drawings.

Education and Experience Preferred:
- Ability to be on call 24/7.
- Working knowledge of all codes and regulations.
Physical Requirements: M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay. The pay range is $24.76 - $41.27/hour (USD). Compensation depends on knowledge, skills, and experience.
