Who our client is: Consulting Engineers that have been in business since 1976, that have earned an excellent reputation for providing comprehensive engineering services. Their team executes a coordinated approach to managing projects from concept through completion. Together we are searching for an Assistant Project Engineer-Geotechnical to join their team on-site at their Parsippany, NJ location. Requirements:
- Solves complex problems and calculations, using engineering formulas and skills.
- Evaluates research by others and writes reports.
- Assists the Project Engineer in the preparation of proposal estimates of time and expenses required to complete the project.
- Assists the Project Engineer in scheduling staffing requirements for field projects
- Assists the Project Engineer in supervising and instructing, as needed, the responsibilities of field personnel on projects assigned to them.
- Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering Project.
Qualifications:
- Ability to review and understand plans, specs, and reports including site, grading, utility, foundation, details, structural, drawings, architectural, grading, federal, state and local regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years of field or related experience where a PE license counts towards that related experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and demonstrates ability to meet the requirements of the job as set forth in this description.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or have the ability to become licensed within 2 years of being in this position.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or have the ability to become licensed within 2 years of being in this position.
- ACI/NICET/NJ DCA Special Inspector and Nuclear Densometer certification a plus.
- Valid Driver's License and possess reliable transportation to access job sites.
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, NitroPro, GSLOPE,
- KeyWall, Rocscience, MS Word, Excel, Adobe.
- Ability to use tools such as a lump hammer, shovel, hand auger, Nuclear Density Gauge.
Compensation: $85k - $100K based on experience. Benefits:
