Position Type: Part-Time
Average Hours: Fewer than 30 hours per week
Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $19.50 | Year 3 - $20.00 | Year 4 - $20.00 | Year 5 - $21.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members and effectively communicate with your direct leader.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of documents and data.
- Other duties as assigned.
Cashier Duties:
- Process customer purchases and maintain a clean working area.
- Offer exceptional customer service and assist customers during their shopping journey.
- Provide feedback on products, inventory losses, and general issues to management.
- Participate in store inventory counts and monitor inventory accuracy.
- Adhere to cash policies to minimize losses.
Stock Associate Duties:
- Efficiently stock shelves and rotate products to ensure freshness.
- Follow merchandising guidelines to create appealing product displays.
- Organize inventory and manage packaging materials.
- Operate machinery safely and adhere to all safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, pull, and lift throughout your shift.
- Stock positions require lifting items weighing up to 45 pounds to various shelving heights.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
- Perform general cleaning duties to maintain company standards.
- Interpret and apply company policies effectively.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Possess effective time management skills.
- Knowledge of ALDI products and services is a plus.
Cashier Specific Skills:
- Efficient and accurate cash register operation.
- Comply with state and local regulations regarding alcoholic beverage sales.
Stock Associate Specific Skills:
- Safely operate equipment like electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
- Morning availability is required to accommodate early store operations, with shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
