The Regional Director, Clinical Operations (RDCO) is a mission-driven, cross-functional leader responsible for theclinical, operational, and financial performance of an assigned region of ABA clinics. This role drives serviceexcellence, develops local clinic leaders, and ensures high-quality outcomes for clients and families—advancingKind Behavioral Health's commitment to high-quality services, expanded access, outstanding employeeexperiences, and sustainable growth.
The RDCO has a hybrid reporting structure—reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), with a dotted line to the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO)—reflecting its dual accountability for clinical leadership and operationalexecution. The RDCO is accountable for clinic-level outcomes, including financial performance, clinical quality,service access, employee engagement, and client satisfaction. This role directly oversees Clinic Directors and otherregional support staff.
The RDCO plays a critical role in translating enterprise strategy into local execution, leading through change, andfostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement. They partner cross-functionally withHR, Learning, and Clinical stakeholders to support clinic launches, pilot new initiatives, and scale best practicesacross their region. They also collaborate with key support functions—including Development, Intake, Scheduling,and Talent Acquisition—to drive regional growth and ensure their teams are well supported.
This is primarily a remote leadership role, with regular travel required to support onsite clinic visits and companyevents.
Responsibilities - Clinic Leadership & Quality:- Oversee the clinical performance of all assigned clinics.
- Ensure the delivery of evidence-based, ethical ABA services thatmeet or exceed KBHs internal standards and payor requirements.
- Provide guidance, development, and support to clinical leaders(ACDs, CDs) on treatment fidelity, clinical decision-making, andmentorship of clinicians.
- Oversee regional clinical quality assurance systems, ensuring thatfidelity audits, supervision protocols, documentation standards, andclient outcome reviews are implemented consistently and used tomonitor and improve performance.
- Assist on caregiver concerns and steward complex clinicalescalations
Responsibilities - Operational Excellence:- Support the successful onboarding and professional development ofnew BCBAs, ACDs, and CDs in partnership with Clinical Learning andTalent and Director of Clinician Success.
- Drive strong regional performance against key operational metrics,including BCBA headcount, billable attributable hour targetattainment, clinician utilization, staffing ratios, team memberretention, cancellation management, and client satisfaction.
- Lead workforce planning across clinics, ensuring adequate clinicalstaffing to meet client demand and service quality goals.
- Oversee BCBA role, capacity, and caseload planning meetings acrossclinics to ensure alignment with client service goals and regionalstaffing needs.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring plans and maintaina strong pipeline of clinical and leadership talent.
- Partner with Marketing and Business Development to supportdemand generation efforts and strengthen client pipelines in newand existing markets.
- Lead new clinic launches within the region, partnering withDevelopment, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to activate andgrow services in new markets.
- Conduct periodic regional P&L reviews to monitor financialperformance, identify variances, and implement corrective actionsas needed to achieve budgeted outcomes.
- Ensure clinics maintain readiness and compliance with all regulatory,accreditation, and health and safety requirements.
- Support the development and execution of new initiatives, pilots, orpolicies designed to improve client care and improve theeffectiveness/efficiency of KBH operations.
Responsibilities - Leadership Development & Team Culture:- Responsible for modeling and upholding KBH values of Think Big,Have Fun, Do Good, and Be Kind across all locations.
- Provide direct supervision, development, and performance feedbackto Clinic Directors within the assigned region.
- Partner with the Learning and Talent team to identify high-potentialtalent and build regional leadership succession plans.
- Lead regional Clinic Director meetings and development sessions.
- Leads Accommodations meetings to support KBH Scope of Practice.
- Lead Clinical and Operations (ClinOps) meetings to support cross department communication, alignment on highest priorities, andensure action plan development and follow through.
- Model and reinforce a culture of inclusion, collaboration,psychological safety, and accountability across clinics.
Role Qualifications:- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field - required.
- BCBA Certification in active, good standing with the BACB - required.
- 5+ years experience as a BCBA, includingsupervision of RBTs and clinicaldecision-making in a clinic-basedsetting - required.
- 3 years experience leading clinic operations,including workforce planning,scheduling, financial management,and operational KPIs - required.
- 3 years experience supervising other BCBAsor Clinic Directors, includingmentorship and performancedevelopment - required.
- 3 years experience in interdisciplinarycollaboration, regulatory compliance,and family-centered care - required.
- 2+ years experience overseeing multi-site teams ore regional performance with a distributed workforce - required.
- Demonstrates fluency in Excel,SharePoint, dashboards, and theMicrosoft Office Suite (Word,PowerPoint, Excel) - required.
- Leverages clinical and operationaldata to identify trends, monitorperformance, and drive continuousimprovement. Uses data to informdecisions, assess risks, and alignactions with organizational goals - required.
- Candidates must reside in NorthCarolina or a neighboring state withina reasonable commuting distance totheir assigned region, or be willing ot relocate. Regular in person travel to clinics and companyevents is required to supporteffective leadership and oversight.
- Experience overseeing multi-siteteams or regional performance witha distributed workforce - preferred.
