There is a position vacancy at the Bay County 74th District Court. Job title: Deputy Court Clerk General. Rate of pay: $18.22/hr progressing to $22.22/hr after two years (TD07). This is a full-time position with benefits as provided for within the TPOAM Labor Agreement, although union membership is voluntary. Bay County is a qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

General job description: Under the general supervision of the Court Administrator and/or Deputy Court Administrator, this person will perform a variety of complex tasks that will mainly involve the processing of criminal matters. This individual will be assigned to the criminal records department, however, if the need arises, may be required to assist in other departments within the court. The successful candidate will provide assistance to attorneys and their staff, other court personnel, law enforcement agencies and the general public. Duties may include but are not limited to opening various case files, processing daily incoming paperwork, processing court filings, reviewing case files for further court action, issuing and recalling arrest warrants, closing case files, ensuring files are accurately processed for daily arraignments, and general clerical functions as required.

Qualifications: This position requires a high school diploma. A successful candidate must be able to enter and retrieve data efficiently and accurately using a computer. Must be detail oriented and able to perform multiple tasks nearly simultaneously. Must possess patience and be able to communicate and react courteously to upset clients. Must be able to type 50 WPM (corrected). Testing may be administered. A background check including fingerprinting will be completed for any successful candidate.

Physical requirements: (With or without reasonable accommodations) This position involves sitting most of the time and/or being mobile or standing for brief periods of time. Additional requirements include the ability to move objects according to the following weight & frequency: generally, 10 pounds of force up to one third of the time.
