JOB TITLE: Receptionist, Campus WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt REPORTS TO: Principal DEPT. /SCHOOL: Assigned Campus PRIMARY PURPOSE: Serve as receptionist for the campus office. Greet all visitors. Answer and direct phone calls. Provide information and assistance for all visitors, students and faculty and staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills: Clerical/secretarial skills Ability to use multi-line phone system Knowledge of telephone etiquette Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to use personal computer to do word processing Experience: One year clerical or secretarial experience preferred MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Greet all visitors, be responsive to needs, and direct to appropriate staff/department. Supervise students who are in the office area on a temporary basis. Coordinate messages from parents or administrators to students or teachers in classroom. Provide clerical support for office. Assist with student related activities such as SAC and D-Hall assignments, tardy slips, etc. as assigned. Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at designated site on a regular daily basis according to established work schedule. Maintain confidentiality of information. Promote a positive and professional work environment Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal. EQUIPMENT USED: Use personal computer, multi-line telephone, copier, fax machine, and other general office equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written); ability to prioritize and handle a variety of duties simultaneously; ability to direct inquiries appropriately; maintain emotional control under stress Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Works with frequent interruptions; ability to perform under heavy use of multi-line phone system; repetitive hand motions School district employees may be required to work from home and use their personal electronic devices.
