ATSS has openings for a Pipefitter 1st at our client's Pascagoula, MS facility. Basic qualifications include:

• Minimum 4 years of trade experience.
• Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills.
• Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication, and installation of pipe, flanges, and valves.
• Ability to read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements.

Preferred design disciplines include:

• 6 years of marine, shipbuilding, and construction experience.
• Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances, and advanced blueprint reading skills.

Job description:

A First-Class Pipefitter, also referred to as a Journeyman Pipefitter, is responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fittings, utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawings, arrangements, and blueprints. Ingalls shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions, as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Pipefitter may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. Ingalls stresses the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.

Location: Pascagoula, MS

Duration: Initially 1 year

Base pay range: $38 per hour, depending on level of experience

Per diem $180 a day with verification of 75 miles away with utility bill
