Job DetailsPosition TypeFull TimeDescriptionThe Mowbray's Tree Service General Foreman oversees the daily operations of multiple tree trimming crews, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in vegetation management around power lines, roadways, and public spaces. This role includes supervising crew members, managing schedules, coordinating equipment needs, and ensuring all work meets company standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in tree trimming and line clearance, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to promoting a safe and productive work environment.Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage multiple tree trimming crews, providing guidance, training, and support to foremen and crew members to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Enforce company and OSHA safety standards across all crews, conducting regular safety meetings, site inspections, and ensuring proper PPE and equipment use.
- Plan and schedule daily operations, allocating resources, assigning tasks, and ensuring all equipment is available and in good working order.
- Monitor crew performance and work quality, ensuring that trimming and removal meet company standards and client specifications.
- Mentor and develop crew members, providing training on tree trimming techniques, safety practices, and leadership development for future foremen.
- Serve as the main point of contact between field operations, management, and clients, providing updates on project status and addressing any issues or client concerns.
- Handle administrative tasks such as time tracking, incident reporting, work orders, and record-keeping to ensure accurate documentation.
- Act as the on-site leader for any incidents or emergencies, including coordinating first aid and emergency services if necessary and completing any required reports.
QualificationsExperience/Certification Requirements:
- 5 years in tree trimming or line clearance operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of tree trimming techniques and safety practices.
- Proficiency with basic computer programs for record-keeping and scheduling.
- ISA Arborist Certification is preferred.
- CTSP is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions if required by the job.
- Must have the ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, including twisting, bending, climbing, and stooping.
- Must possess fine motor skills and dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver's license, CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred.
- Willingness to travel if required by the job.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
