Job Type Part-timeDescriptionThe Medical Records Receptionist plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, coordinatingresident services, and ensuring smooth front desk operations. This position supports bothadministrative and compliance functions while providing exceptional service to residents,families, and healthcare staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate daily transportation and medical appointments for residents on adaily basis.
- Manage and maintain all resident contracts and medical records, ensuring properdocumentation for records release and adherence to privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Conduct comprehensive CHIRP and OBRA background checks for all new admissions toensure compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) standards.
- Oversee front desk operations, including answering multi-line phone systems, greetingvisitors, and assisting with customer service quality measures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident care coordination and dataaccuracy.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with facility policies, state, and federal regulationsregarding medical records management.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and preparing documentation for auditsor inspections
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in healthcareadministration or medical records preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare facility, or similar setting preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
