Neurology RN – Specialized Neurological Unit

Location: Rochester, NY

Contract Type: Travel or Full-Time

Unit Type: Neurology / Epilepsy Monitoring / Stroke

Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity awaits for nurses looking to advance their careers on a specialized neurological unit. This unit offers an exceptional environment to build expertise in various neurological diseases while strengthening your nursing and critical thinking skills.

You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting, caring for patients with:

• Stroke
• Epilepsy
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Guillain-Barré Syndrome
• And other acute neurological conditions

This unit is:

• A Joint Commission-accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center
• The only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in the region, using advanced continuous video EEG technology
• Known for its collaboration among nurses, physicians, therapists, and techs

Job Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Telemetry experience is required

• Licensure:

  • Active NY Registered Nurse license only (no exceptions)

• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA required)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – Highly preferred
