Position Summary: The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting activities related to accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The specialist will also support other accounting functions, including month-end close activities, and other accounting projects. Primary Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to: Review, match, and vouch vendor invoices with purchase orders and receipts. Communicate with vendors to address invoice or payment issues, as needed. Process bi-weekly check runs and compile payment files for management review and approval. Perform accounts receivable activities, including sending invoices to customers, applying customer payment, and following up on overdue payments. Escalate and resolve discrepancies or other issues relating to payment or collection. Maintaining organized and accurate records of all transactions. Generate and analyze reports on accounts receivable and accounts payable Prepare month-end accrual data for journal entries. Support ad hoc projects and cross-functional needs within the department. Qualifications & Requirements: 13 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities. Willingness to work overtime as required. Experience with Syteline ERP systems is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Preferred Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational and time management skills. Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills. Experience & Education Some college or above. Completion of coursework or training in accounting is preferred. Additional Competencies: Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and communicate effectively with team members, vendors and customers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems using logical reasoning and interpret instructions delivered in various forms (written, oral, diagram).
