Job Description NATURE OF WORK & RESPONSIBILITIES: Greets, assists and directs patients and visitors arriving at the front desk or from the parking lot to various areas within the hospital. Transport patients from the parking lot to their hospital destination and transport patients back to their car as needed. Receives incoming hospital telephone system calls regarding emergency and non-emergency police and fire service, emergency ambulance service and relates same to Safety Officer via dispatching. Provides assistance to outside and internal callers and visitors. Responds to emergencies calmly and accurately. Records all pertinent information in the log book. Verifies Vendor Credentialing for all Vendors entering the Hospital. Initiates and processes all visitors through the hospitals Symplr system. Employee will operate the overhead public address system when necessary and use the hospitals Vocera system for paging. Initiates emergency codes as requested by hospital staff. (RRT, Code 99, Code Grey, etc.) Other duties as assigned. Requirements There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES: Experience with visitor management program, dealing with the public, patient transport and experience operating a hospital switchboard.
