Default Job Profile Summary Qualifications. The fellow will specifically work on novel time domain (fluorescence lifetime-based) optical imaging technologies for clinical and preclinical applications in cancer, neuropathology, and cardiac disease. Depending on the candidates experience, proficiency and career goals, the research can focus on a combination of the following areas: development, maintenance and operation of optical imaging systems and image reconstruction algorithms, developing and designing animal and human protocols, performing preclinical imaging studies with simple animal procedures (surgery, anesthesia etc.,), performing in vitro cell culture and ex vivo histology and microscopy studies, and conducting clinical studies for image guided surgery and diagnostics. Requirements: The candidate will ideally have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, or in the pure sciences (chemistry/physics/biology/biochemistry).
