Python Software Developer Location: Chantilly VA, Alexandria, VA or Gaithersburg, MDWork Type: Full Time Job Description: GridIron IT is seeking a Python Software Developer with an Active Top Secret (SCI Eligible) Clearance to support our AWS environment. The qualified candidate must have an active TS security clearance, and will work hand-in-hand with technical and program management leadership to implement the next generation desktop and web based production and dissemination system. This position will require an experienced developer to help enable NGA's Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) mission collecting sciences, technology and tradecraft measuring and modeling the Globe to provide three-dimensional accuracy of every point in, on, or above the Earth. Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will involve coding, developing, integrating, and debugging software artifacts; writing validation tests against existing baselines to ensure integrity of the code during Agile development efforts; assisting with unit testing; programming; and developing in Python. Core Qualifications:Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 4+ years of prior relevant experience; OR 8 years of experience in lieu of degreeMust possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain SCI post-hireProficient in software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services).Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quicklyOrganizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.Strong experience coding in PythonExperience using GitLab for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and resource managementExperience using Docker to package and run applicationsExperience with Web-related protocols and technologies, such as web servers, HTTP, SSLFamiliar with AWS/Cloud technologiesTeam Collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience supporting the NGA customer.Proficient in AWS/Cloud technologiesCertification in AWS or Python programming Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range: $120,000-$150,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs.
