The Boston Medical Center Health System (BMCHS) Inclusive Management Administrative Fellowship is a highly selective, one-year postgraduate training program that broadens the candidate's healthcare administration knowledge and enhances their hands-on skills, with the aim of assisting them in building a successful career as a healthcare administrator.
The fellowship is semi-structured and preceptor-driven. Each fellow will have an opportunity to rotate through clinical and functional areas of the hospital, shadowing staff members to gain a direct view into their day-to-day operations. Areas include, but are not limited to, operations, human resources, finance, and quality. Senior leaders at Boston Medical Center provide formal mentorship.
Example ProjectsFellows work on a wide range of projects across hospital and health system. A few examples of potential projects include:
Each fellow will be paired with a senior leader (VP or higher) who will serve as their mentor throughout the program. Fellows will meet with their mentors to discuss their overall career goals and learning objectives for the fellowship. Additionally, the mentor will meet regularly with fellows to discuss project progress, provide coaching and feedback, and answer questions about BMC and healthcare administration more broadly.
Who Can ApplyThis fellowship is open to candidates who are within one year of the completion of their postgraduate education. A minimum of a master's degree is required to apply.
