Job Summary:

Manage Production Inventory Control (PIC) functions to plan, coordinate, control, and direct activities involving the scheduling and release of production orders, the requisitioning of purchased parts, and maintaining accurate inventory control records and system procedures. Analyze and recommend solutions to improve the availability of component parts to ensure adherence to production schedules. This position includes supervisory duties related to valves and actuators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the release, control, and follow-up of all shop floor work orders from creation to shipment. Coordinate expediting of component parts to prevent production delays.
  • Investigate and resolve component part availability issues. Recommend disciplined long-term solutions to inventory and delivery problems within a domestic and international supply chain.
  • Analyze capacity, production, and inventory reports to ensure a constant flow of work orders from origination to shipment.
  • Manage inventory levels of purchased parts and raw materials to meet production needs in collaboration with commodity management and purchasing teams.
  • Coordinate inter-company component transfers and manufacturing orders.
  • Communicate directly with vendors to resolve delivery issues and involve departments such as Engineering and Quality as needed.
  • Support supply chain management efforts in alignment with assembly and fabrication production goals.
  • Supervise Production Inventory Control associates, including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; handling rewards and discipline; resolving complaints and conflicts; and providing training.
  • Lead and manage special projects as assigned.
  • Promote and enforce safety practices. Stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in purchasing/expediting, with a focus on international suppliers and pull-based systems.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS, CPIM, Lean, or Six Sigma are desirable but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, organizational and project management skills, and proficiency in computer and communication tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities from start to finish.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong forecasting, strategic planning, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role.
