Are you passionate about shaping the future of public infrastructure? Do you thrive at the intersection of strategy, planning, and execution? If so, we invite you to join our team and help lead a transformative Facilities Master Plan for Collier County

What You'll Do

In this pivotal role, you'll help guide the long-term vision for our County's facilities. You'll coordinate major capital improvement initiatives, manage consultant relationships, and collaborate with a range of internal and external partners. Most importantly, you'll help ensure our spaces support the evolving needs of our residents and staff—today and well into the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on the County's Facilities Master Plan—coordinating facility condition assessments, optimizing space usage, and shaping long-term strategies for growth and investment.
  • Serve as the County's go-to expert on aligning facility improvements with operational goals, service delivery, and future community needs.
  • Manage consultant contracts and performance, making sure deliverables are accurate, timely, and actionable.
  • Build and maintain our capital maintenance and deferred maintenance inventory—evaluating needs based on urgency, cost, and impact.
  • Partner with County departments, constitutional offices, and GIS/data teams to support smart, system-wide planning.
  • Help integrate facility data into County platforms like ArcGIS Indoors and asset management systems.
  • Turn complex technical details into clear, decision-ready reports for leadership and budget planning.
  • Contribute to long-term capital improvement strategies including infrastructure investment roadmaps, phasing, and resilience planning.
  • Ensure all plans align with County goals for sustainability, energy performance, and accessibility (ADA).
  • Assist in budget preparation, project scheduling, and long-term planning efforts for capital initiatives.
  • Help coordinate multiple planning and construction projects while managing deadlines and priorities.
  • Review and approve contractor payments, change orders, and schedules. Assist in contract negotiations and bid evaluations.

What You Bring

  • Education: A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of related professional experience.
  • Don't have a related degree? We welcome candidates with 7+ years of hands-on experience in similar roles.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple initiatives at once.
  • Excellent communication skills—comfortable presenting to executives or working alongside technicians.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for public service.

Additional Requirements

  • Fingerprinting and background check required.
  • A valid Florida Driver's License (with any required endorsements) is needed to drive a County vehicle.
  • Depending on the assignment, additional certifications may be required or preferred.
