The Health Information Quality Specialist is responsible for helping to ensure the integrity and accuracy of patient record uploads, clinical staff scanning/uploading of patient records, and of UAMS vital records reporting. This is typically managed by verification and tracking of system reports, review of operational work logs, and follow up on reports provided by the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH). Must meet quality and productivity standards. Requires critical thinking and independent decision making, as well as general knowledge and understanding of HIM/ Hospital policy and procedures and ADH Vital Records regulations and requirements. This position reports to the HIM Release of Information and Vital Records Manager, but the scope of the role requires the person to work with all HIM Managers.
