Job Description :

Under supervision, this Financial Forecasting Senior Accountant, specializing in financial forecasting and structured finance, will complete various assignments as designated by their manager, partner, and/or principal (collectively their Supervisor). Some positions at Novogradac may offer remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs. Please discuss available options with your recruiter.

Your Contributions and Responsibilities

  • Complete assignments, including preparing financial forecasts and related tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Evaluate and extract financial and non-financial data from client-provided information, such as letters of intent, term sheets, audited financial statements, tax returns, partnership agreements, loan agreements, appraisals, cost segregation studies, independent engineering reports, and other transaction agreements.
  • Collaborate with clients to optimize investment return profiles by evaluating ownership structures, subsidies, and financing options.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and project finance team members to discuss investment structuring for federal tax credits from opportunity zones, renewable energy, historic rehabilitation, and other credits.
  • Document and reference assumptions used in financial modeling engagements.
  • Prepare summarized financial data reports.
  • Identify and communicate potential issues during engagements.
  • Assist with accounting, audit, and tax engagements, including financial statement audits, tax returns, cost certifications, and cost segregation studies.
  • Perform other related duties as appropriate.
  • Your Background and Skills

  • Interest in developing knowledge of project and corporate finance, especially regarding tax credit investments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail in work.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Receptive to constructive feedback and adaptable.
  • Team-oriented with collaborative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas like Sumif, VLookup, IF, IRR, PV, NPV, MATCH, INDEX, CONCATENATE, ROUND.
  • Strong computer skills, including report writing and quick learning of new programs.
  • Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
  • Adherence to internal deadlines.
  • Ability to contribute ideas and add value to the team.
  • Knowledge of partnership accounting/taxation, real estate, lending terminology is a plus.
  • Eligibility to sit for the CFA or CPA exam or having passed sections is a plus.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel domestically as needed.
  • Your Qualifications

    Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or economics, with 2+ years of relevant experience. Experience with renewable energy, historic preservation, tax credits, real estate, partnerships, forecasting, or cost segregation is beneficial but not mandatory.

    Compensation: $77,000 to $94,000, commensurate with experience, with potential for more.
