CHIEF, DIVISION OF METABOLISM, ENDOCRINOLOGY AND DIABETESUNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
The Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Michigan Health System invites applications from qualified endocrinologists to lead its Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes (MEND). The Division Chief position is a full-time appointment reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine. This highly ranked division is comprised of roughly 70 faculty members, has robust NIH- and VA-funded research programs and operates a strong academic fellowship training program. Responsibilities include overseeing clinical care delivery, promoting and building divisional research activities, and engaging in the training and professional development of students, house officers, fellows, and junior faculty. Candidates must have an M.D., or equivalent degree, M.D./Ph.D., be board-certified in endocrinology, and be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate or full professor at the University of Michigan. Desired qualifications include collaborative leadership and administrative experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, established track record in directing an active research program, and proven mentorship ability.
