Summary:

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of aircraft MRO experience and a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, with the ability to apply them to solve real-world problems. They are highly motivated, competitive, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills will be used to troubleshoot, design, analyze, and repair aircraft components, tooling, and test systems.

Duties:

  • Develop new repairs or industrialize existing CMM repairs.
  • Investigate assembly/production issues and produce practical, viable solutions.
  • Produce 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and repair/modification work instructions.
  • Perform stress analysis to ensure the structural integrity of repaired components.
  • Write engineering reports to demonstrate compliance with applicable FAA regulations.
  • Assist in aircraft component failure investigations and warranty determinations.
  • Provide technical support to other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, preferably with LRU, APU, or jet engine component repair or aircraft powerplant engineering.
  • Strong understanding of engineering mechanics (metallic material properties, free body diagrams, stress analysis methods, fluid flow, etc.).
  • Knowledge of FAA requirements and regulations.
  • Experience with thermal spray and electroplating work.
  • Direct experience with various types of LRU or jet engine component repair processes and requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
