Primary Job Title: Scaffolding SuperintendentLocation: Portland,tx (Onsite)Shift/Work Schedule: Date Posted: 7/25/2025Employment Type: Contract ( Duration: months) Position SummaryThe Scaffold Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the scaffolding discipline. This includes managing scaffolding craft personnel, subordinate supervisors, and ensuring that construction activities are executed according to schedule, specifications, and within budget.Responsibilities
- Provide ES&H leadership to assigned personnel, including safety procedures and leading safety meetings
- Inspect the site for unsafe conditions and practices, taking corrective actions
- Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor
- Champion the ZERO Accident Philosophy and compliance with safety codes and standards
- Review and approve subcontractor equipment and personnel mobilization/demobilization
- Plan scaffolding and equipment needs for job execution
- Monitor craft activities for specification and schedule compliance
- Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for recruitment and training
- Coordinate with the General Foreman to hire craft labor
- Conduct employee reviews and identify training needs for scaffolding personnel
- Review craft time records with automated tools
- Manage cost, schedule, labor, and equipment look-ahead plans
- Prepare reports including construction progress and forecasts
- Input into quantity tracking and report installed quantities to Project Controls
- Implement corporate project policies and procedures
- Coordinate and execute established operational plans
- Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables through Procurement
- Assist in construction testing as needed
- Perform other duties as required
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and 6 years of relevant experience, or 10 years of equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience
- Preferred experience in oil, gas, petrochemical, refinery, minerals processing, or power station construction
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Working knowledge of industry codes and standards
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Preferred experience at LNG construction sites, especially on the U.S. Gulf Coast
Additional InformationThis role includes field inspections and requires physical activity such as walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms and uneven surfaces, and entering confined spaces. The use of standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.Benefits
