With support from our staff, Board, and broader Team BGCP community, we strive to make our community a great place for all kids to grow up.POSITION OVERVIEWAs a Van Driver, you will be responsible for transporting our students from our East Palo Alto Clubhouse to their homes during the school year. This position reports directly to the Director of OperationsROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide transportation to BGCP students during the school year
  • Maintain vehicle logs
  • Perform routine vehicle safety checks
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of vans
  • Manage and uphold the rules and regulations of the parking lot during student pick-up
  • Have familiarity with roads and be responsible for knowing travel routes and destinations
  • Be responsible, in case of emergency, for van repairs to manage details of roadside assistance and/or towing
  • Provide transportation for meals
  • Uphold the rules and regulations of the parking lot during student pick-up
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 21 years old
  • Current and valid California Drivers' license (standard class Cno special license required)
  • Clean driving record
  • Proof of personal auto insurance
  • Familiarity with mechanical operations of automobiles a plus
  • Ability to work independently and to adapt to changes in a work environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience with driving high school students a plus

LOCATIONMenlo Park & East Palo Alto, CA*Transporting students from our Menlo Park & East Palo Alto Clubhouses to their homes in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Redwood City.IMPORTANT ONBOARDING & TRAINING DATES:
  • Onboarding Training (Required for All New Hires):Date: Attend one full-day session on July 31, or August 12, 19Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PMLocation: 401 Pierce Rd, Menlo Park, CA 94025
  • Mandatory Driving Class (Required for Van Driver New Hires):Date: Attend one full-day session on August 9 or 16
  • Be Great Conference (All-Staff Training Week):Dates: August 4 - August 8Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PMLocation: Caada College, Redwood City, CA
WORK SCHEDULEMonday - Friday: 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm (Work hours will vary based on student transportation needs; candidates must be flexible and adaptable to changing schedules.)*Employment for June and July is not guaranteed, as the position aligns with the school calendar. COMPENSATION
  • Employment Status: Part-Time, Hourly
  • Pay Range: $29.00 per hour
