California Medicine Scholars Program (CMSP), which is a statewide partnership pathway that begins at community colleges to produce more underrepresented, primary care physicians and, in turn, reduce health disparities in California communities. The CMSP pathway includes regional, collaborative efforts organized by Regional Hubs of Healthcare Opportunity (RHHOs) and include community colleges, 4-year universities, schools of medicine, community health clinics, and community-based organizations in Southern California.

What You'll Do

Associate Directors provide an important level of local support for the RHHOs' work around planning, implementing, and supporting the California Medicine Scholars Program in their current structures. They foster regional collaboration and serve as liaisons between colleges/districts, community-based organizations and health centers, and the California Medicine Central Office. A major focus of this position will be to convene key partners in the Los Angeles area region and compile critical information relevant to piloting an RHHO implementation guide.

  • Assists RHHO implementation and supports post-secondary practitioners and community partners with program planning and implementation, network building, site coordination, consultations, and event planning related to California Medicine Scholars Program.

  • Presents documentation and applied research findings and best practices at statewide and regional conferences/gatherings with community colleges, 4-year universities, community-based organizations, and health centers, and/or other partners and stakeholders in support of CA Medicine and the RHHOs.

  • Collaborates with CA Medicine central office, the communications teams and supports the development of feedback loops between the California Medicine Coalition central office

  • Works with specified central office personnel to track individual college and regional needs and trends, analyze individual college and regional data, and develop reports, and other resources.

  • Preference for MA or higher-level degree(s) in Public Health, Public Policy, Education, or other related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) + years of progressive experience in managing program/system implementation or project management.

  • Minimum of five (5) + years of experience in teaching or administration in an education or non-profit environment preferred.

Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:

$101,000.00 - $120,000.00

Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
