Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT)OutpatientMonterey, CAFull Time Monday-Friday (no weekend or call)Job Description:Client is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) to provide PET/CT imaging services in our new outpatient PET/CT department. Hours of operation are Monday–Friday with no weekend or on-call responsibilities. Technologists will administer radiopharmaceuticals, perform imaging procedures, and support clinical workflows in a caring and highly collaborative environment. NMT will be working in our brand-new outpatient facility serving adult, ambulatory patients. Techs will be able to work independently and help shape workflows as the department grows. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, Monday thru Friday workweek with 8 or 10 hour shifts. Volume will be 4-5 PETs a day with CT's scattered throughout.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Competently perform PET/CT scans on adult patients.
  • Prepare, administer, measure, log, and dispose of radioactive isotopes utilizing proper equipment.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Perform imaging procedures including radiotracer administration, protocol setup, positioning, image acquisition, and archiving.
  • Assist in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure accurate patient demographic information, report distribution, and file management.
  • Assist in collecting clinical data for follow-up or educational use.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly QA/QC on PET/CT equipment per CA and ACR standards.
  • Report malfunctions or contamination to appropriate parties (e.g., Radiation Safety Officer).
  • Support maintenance of imaging protocol manuals and implementation of software upgrades.
  • Monitor and maintain medical supply inventory.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Complete other tasks or duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • NMTCB (CNMT) or ARRT(N) certification, current and in good standing – Required.
  • California Nuclear Medicine Technologist License – Required.
  • BLS certification – Required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in PET/CT imaging is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and handling of PET/CT equipment.
  • Experience with ACR accreditation and PACS/RIS systems.
  • Proficient in positioning patients, preparing/administering isotopes, and identifying equipment issues.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety practices including ALARA and RAML compliance.

IDR Job ID #448741. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
