Accounting Associate

Addison Group is partnering with a growing company in the Minneapolis, MN area to identify a skilled Accounting Associate to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys owning both sides of transactional accounting and thrives in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable, along with strong familiarity in job costing and sales & use tax. Prior experience in the construction industry and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process full-cycle AP, including 3-way matching, PO-based invoicing, and vendor statement reconciliation
  • Collect and verify lien waivers and accurately code invoices to jobs/cost codes
  • Manage sales & use tax application on purchases and billing, including exemption tracking
  • Handle customer invoicing, cash applications, and collections follow-up
  • Reconcile AR aging reports and investigate payment discrepancies
  • Assist with job costing reviews and provide support for monthly project financials
  • Support month-end close activities across both AP and AR
  • Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure accuracy and timelines.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of AP and/or AR experience
  • Experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is a big plus
  • Strong knowledge of job costing and sales & use tax
  • Solid Excel skills (basic formulas, sorting/filtering, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication and time management skills

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $26-$31.25/hr dependent on applicable experience.
