The Cliffe Lab in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, is seeking a Laboratory Specialist to work on projects investigating Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) infection in neurons. More information on the lab can be found here Research activities will include but not be limited to:Propagating and titrating virus stocks. Routine tissue culture. General molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid isolation, RT-PCR, RN - Aseq), microscopy, and animal work. The lab specialist will also have tasks related to laboratory maintenance. This includes training, maintaining mouse colonies, ordering supplies, preparing stock solutions, organizing and maintaining virus stocks. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Education: Bachelor's degree.
