Responsible for managing the entire logistics and shipping process including the receipt, interdepartmental movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials and ensuring the timely production and shipment of finished goods to the customer while meeting all GF safety and quality standards.
- Responsible for ensuring incoming raw materials are correctly received into inventory in a timely manner
- Ensure timely delivery of raw materials & components from warehouse to production areas as needed.
- Works directly with production scheduling and production management to confirm materials are available to support the needs of production.
- Responsible for shipping activities involving the systemic picking, packaging, and shipment of finished goods to customers in a timely and efficient manner
- Organize and optimize processes to ensure cost efficient customer and intercompany shipments.
- Organizes and coordinates activities and staff schedules, ensuring fulfillment goals are met and shipments are timely and accurate
- Maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Enhance and improve WMS functionality, accountability, and KPI creation and implementation
- Develop solutions to control inventory costs and labor costs, increase training, safety awareness and productivity.
- Determine solutions to existing process challenges to reduce waste and improve quantity
- Works with the production departments to confirm transactions are completed timely & accurately.
- Identifies opportunities and takes action to build strategic relationships between teams to help achieve business objectives.
- Implement effective operating procedures/working practices, re-write SOPs to reflect such changes, and continually update.
- Proficient in SAP, and MS Office Programs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with multiple levels of the organization
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or minimum of five years in shipping warehouse management experience.
- Required proven experience leading teams on multiple shifts/locations.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
- Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas
- Primary work in a climate controlled office environment with up to 50% of time in non-climate controlled manufacturing and warehouse and outdoors, being exposed to natural heat and cold.
- Eye/Hand coordination for more than 50% of the time.
- Visual strain for more than 50% of the time.
- Listening, sitting, standing, for long periods of time. Must be able to repeatedly stoop, walk long distances, observe, grasp, push, pull, and keyboarding.
