Work Location: DeKalbDue to the highly interactive and team-based nature of this role, in-person attendance for most of the workweek (i.e., 3 days or more) is essential for: effective communication including during in-person meetings, strong supervision, real-time problem-solving, and participation in cross-functional initiatives.Want to make an impact?The Sanitation Technician will plan, direct, and control daily and nightly cleaning activities to meet established standards. The position is responsible for following proper procedures to clean industrialized equipment, ensure adherence to food safety standards and assist in minimizing down time.Ways you will make a differenceManage plant sanitation procedures, programs and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for productionStrictly adhere to sanitation, GMP, and safety standardsPerform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules for the facility interior and exterior and ensure superior sanitation of equipment and surrounding areasMentor and motivate Janitors and Balers on shift, providing training and development to optimize performance and personal growthParticipate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvementsFacilitate problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issuesFollow up on work orders with the appropriate associates to ensure expeditious performance of the requested workMonitor the Chemical storage and dispense the appropriate concentration for cleaning activitiesReceive and track sanitary and chemical inventoryMonitor sanitation team in the use of chemicals and proper safety procedures, checking inventory levels of chemicals and ordering supplies when necessaryUnderstand and demonstrate the Company's core values and operating principlesAdhere to all company policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned support to Ferrara Candy Company business objectivesSkills that will make you successful* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals* Basic knowledge of HACCP, BRC food safety and GMP principles* Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directed* Strong verbal and written communication skillsExperiences that will support your success* Minimum of 2 years sanitation experience in the food-industry preferredWhat We OfferAt Ferrara, we're proud to support our employees with comprehensive benefits that enhance health, financial wellness, and include paid time off (PTO).
