Guests feel it; you'll feel it too.What You'll DoAs an Accounting Manager at Kimpton, you'll be responsible for owning the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, leading a small accounting team, assisting with month-end close, expense report management, and other special projects. In this position, you'll interact with both corporate and property-level employees, corporate senior management, and various vendors.Some Of Your Responsibilities Include

  • Initiate check payments and inquire about vendor statements.
  • Supervise credit extension processes and collection of overdue accounts.
  • Ensure daily transactions are posted and updated in a timely manner, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Input General Ledger entries and journal vouchers as required.
  • Review and verify accounts payable input/output, accounts receivable posting and billing, and maintain the daily income report, ensuring all necessary schedules are completed promptly.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports according to reporting calendars, ensuring timely submission.
  • Interact with outside contacts:
    • Guests - to resolve billing disputes and answer questions; to provide service to accounts
    • Regulatory agencies - to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and contractual agreements; to coordinate external audits
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to streamline processes while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform additional accounting functions such as reconciling gratuities for payroll, maintaining contract logs, auditing or approving payments to vendors or agencies, etc. May assist with other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the Hospitality industry.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; task prioritization and effective time management.
  • Strong written, presentation, and informal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand issues and problem solve in a timely manner.
  • Comfortable working independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Prior experience with accounting software; experience with PeopleSoft, InfoGenesis, and/or Opera PMS is preferred.
  • Up-to-date technology expertise.
