The Field Services Division is responsible for the inspection, testing, regulatory compliance, operation, and maintenance of over 4,800 miles of pipeline, over 11,000 fire hydrants, and approximately 870 wastewater pump stations. The Field Services Division is seeking highly qualified individuals to fill three (3) Utilities Maintenance Coordinator positions - in the Water Distribution & Tool Shop Work Groups. This position is responsible for scheduling, planning, and coordinating with vendors and contractors to ensure proper execution of work and/or maintenance activities of multiple personnel or crews to maintain facilities in efficient operating condition.
Job Description General Functions Coordinates maintenance activities by scheduling work activities to maintain facilities in efficient operating condition, reviews work performed by a variety of trades, responds to emergency situations to correct operating problems in a timely fashion. Work performed is generally routine technical work coordinating one or two crews. Work requires independent judgment under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Representative Duties/Assignments
- Train staff in policies, safety procedures and construction.
- Assists with coordination of activities performed by a variety of trades including vendors and contractors.
- Assists with the coordination of daily tasks and activities performed by staff and contractors.
- Maintains tracking software for budgeting and invoicing work performed.
- Assist with overseeing the schedule and coordination of multiple groups.
- Knowledge of computer-based maintenance programs (Maximo).
- Ensure work orders are completed timely and daily logs are completed with photos.
- Complete incident reports.
- Provide details to supervisor for corrective actions and input on performance evaluations for staff within the crew.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in the operation of heavy equipment, maintenance of water or wastewater systems, and operation of water meters; or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver¿s License.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver¿s License Class ¿B,¿ or possess CDL permit and obtain license plus tanker endorsement within six (6) months of hire or promotion.
Based on area of assignment, may be required to possess and maintain the appropriate certification or license (see below for specifics)
Must obtain a State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Water Distribution System Operator License Florida Water OR Florida Wastewater & Pollution Control Operators Association (FW&PCOA) Certification FWPCOA Certification C within one (1) year of hire or promotion and FQPCOA Certification B within two (2) years of hire or promotion OR
FDEP Water Distribution Operator License 3 within one (1) year of hire or promotion and
FDEP Water Distribution Operator License 2 within three (3) years of hire or promotion Preferences Prefer applicants with three (3) years of construction, operational, and /or maintenance infrastructure experience in an industrial environment and at minimum, posses the FDEP Water Distribution Operator License Level 2 of FWPCOA Certification B Emergency Management Responsibilities **In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee in this role may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee¿s department, the County¿s Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be before, during or after an emergency/disaster.**
