About the Role:

The Environmental Compliance Manager will spearhead our environmental management practices and ensure compliance throughout our construction operations. Focusing on electrical utilities and construction, this role is essential in upholding environmental regulations, managing project-related environmental aspects, and devising and implementing comprehensive environmental programs. Key responsibilities include delivering environmental training, assessing potential construction impacts, collaborating with utility environmental teams, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.

This position will be based in the Plover, WI area. Relocation support may be offered.

Essential Functions

  • Compliance & Regulation: Ensure strict adherence to environmental laws and regulations at local, state, and federal levels, serving as the primary technical advisor for environmental issues.
  • Program Development & Implementation: Design and implement effective environmental management programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Environmental Audits & Assessments: Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential environmental risks and opportunities for improvement, applying relevant environmental specifications to minimize adverse effects.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Develop strategies to promote sustainable practices, resource conservation, and waste reduction across all projects.
  • Training & Education: Deliver comprehensive environmental training to employees and stakeholders, nurturing a culture of environmental stewardship.
  • Communication & Reporting: Clearly communicate environmental performance, risks, and initiatives to stakeholders while preparing reports for project management.
  • Team Management: Lead and supervise environmental teams or personnel, providing essential guidance and support.
  • Liaison & Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants, and participate in field visits with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure consistent attendance and complete other assigned duties as required.

About You:

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience managing environmental compliance within the construction sector.
  • Experience in utility electric construction is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental permitting processes is required.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, health, or engineering field.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • In-depth understanding of environmental science, engineering, and related fields.
  • Working knowledge of SWPPP, BMPs, and erosion control measures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant environmental regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for training, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Adept at identifying, assessing, and resolving environmental issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in team settings.
  • Proficient in managing environmental projects.
  • Skillful in leading teams and driving environmental performance.
  • Committed to performing work safely and effectively.

The salary will be commensurate with experience, and payment is made weekly.
