EHS Specialist required for leading Pharmaceutical Company

  • EHS Specialist
  • Onsite in Exton, Pennsylvania
  • $75,000 - $84,000 per year

A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking an EHS Specialist to join their growing team.

The EHS Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support and implement HSE programs at the company's labs and facilities
  • Serve as the HSE subject matter expert for chemical, biological, radiological, and general safety in laboratory and office environments.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training content; manage training assignments in the learning management system.
  • Write and maintain HSE procedures and programs to ensure regulatory and company compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments for equipment, procedures, and processes.
  • Review safety aspects of new drug product testing requests.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, FAA, PA DEP, and other applicable regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and assign corrective actions.
  • Manage hazardous waste, emergency response coordination, and environmental testing vendor relationships.
  • Monitor contractor activities for adherence to safety policies.
  • Perform other HSE-related duties as assigned.

The ideal EHS Specialist candidate will have the following skillset:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related physical science.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HSE or a science-related field.
  • Background in laboratory, R&D, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local HSE regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Skilled in stakeholder communication, influence, and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of integrating safety into lab and technical operations.
  • Effective trainer with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and related software.
  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance.
  • Commitment to safety and quality compliance.
  • Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO), CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) certification a plus.
