Controls Project Engineer

📍 Location: Sterling, VA | 🏢 Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG)

At VMG, we're growing fast and looking for a Controls Project Engineer to lead the installation, commissioning, and support of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC controls on commercial projects. This role plays a key part in delivering high-performance systems on time and within budget.

🔧 What You'll Do

• Manage BAS/HVAC controls installation and commissioning
• Supervise technicians and subcontractors in the field
• Troubleshoot systems and ensure quality performance
• Develop control system submittals, wiring diagrams & schematics
• Review specs and optimize control sequences
• Coordinate procurement and material delivery

✅ What You Bring

• BAS/HVAC controls experience (Trane, JCI, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.)
• Familiarity with BACnet, MODBUS, Niagara (certifications a plus)
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
