Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department Observation Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 17 weeks Shift: Rotating Shifts including Days, Evenings, Nights, On Call, and Weekends as needed Hours per Shift: 12.0 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Med/Surg License: RN License (New York) Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS (Preferred) Must-Have: Experience in telemetry required Description: The Observation unit provides care for adult patients requiring additional observation to determine if their condition necessitates hospital admission or if they can safely be treated and released. This unit operates in a fast-paced environment, managing 20 to 27 patients per day with an average length of stay of approximately 27 hours. Care is provided for a diverse adult population that includes both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients. Patient cases range from short stays to full admissions. The unit offers 24/7 provider coverage. Qualified candidates must hold a valid RN license in New York and have a minimum of two years of Med/Surg experience. Certifications required include BLS from the American Heart Association, with NIHSS preferred. Experience in telemetry is essential. Candidates must be able to commit to a 17-week contract.
