Purpose of the job: This role exists to ensure that our products and materials reach customers on time, in full, and at optimal cost by: • Designing and executing efficient domestic and international transportation strategies • Maintaining visibility and control over shipments from origin to destination • Driving continuous improvement in service quality, cost management, and process efficiency • Collaborating across Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to exceed delivery expectations Key tasks and responsibilities: • Shipment Coordination & Execution: Build loads, set appointments, arrange carriers, prepare documentation, and reconcile orders to guarantee on-time delivery. • Tracking & Issue Resolution: Monitor shipments in real time, flagging and resolving delays, discrepancies, or damage in partnership with suppliers and internal stakeholders. • Support Carrier Management & Negotiation: Solicit bids, evaluate quotes, negotiate rates and service agreements, and oversee contract performance. • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and maintain weekly/monthly/quarterly logistics metrics and performance reports to inform strategy and drive accountability. • Continuous Improvement Projects: Lead cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, reduce freight costs, and enhance service levels. Functional knowledge and technical skills within own and other areas: • Transportation Modes & Costing: In-depth understanding of trucking, rail, ocean, air freight, tariffs, accessorial charges, and load consolidation techniques • Supply Chain Systems: Proficiency with TMS/WMS platforms, EDI processes, and track-and-trace technologies • Regulatory & Documentation: Familiarity with international shipping regulations, customs clearance requirements, Incoterms, and bill of lading preparation • Continuous Improvement: Lean/Six Sigma concepts, root-cause analysis, and project management methodologies • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to interface with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, and Finance to align transportation strategy with business objectives Educational requirements/qualifications and experience: • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (preferred). • 2+ years of experience in logistics coordination, load planning, or similar roles. • Proficiency in logistics dispatching software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). • E2Open TMS and SAP a plus Key competencies: • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Break down complex logistical challenges and develop innovative, data-driven solutions • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Clearly convey expectations, negotiate effectively, and build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners • Adaptability & Autonomy: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions with limited guidance • Ethical Judgment & Integrity: Uphold high standards of honesty, transparency, and compliance in all dealings • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactively seek opportunities to optimize processes and enhance overall transportation performance Apply Now!
