Overview:

Immediate opening for a Quality Manager at a commercial heat treat in the US. Ideal candidate will drive results and focus on meeting customer expectations. Key requirements for the position are a demonstrated track record of continuous improvement, deep knowledge of problem solving methodologies, and an intimate understanding of interpreting and implementing standards and specifications that relate to ISO, AS9100, and NADCAP. Position reports to facility's General Manager and serves as a member of the local management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the company quality system.
  • Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and safety.
  • Through functional groups, determine and enforce quality and safety requirements in accordance with company needs.
  • Ensure accurate and on-time equipment and instrument calibration
  • Perform internal (ISO/AS/NADCAP) internal audits and, where appropriate, issue corrective and/or preventative actions when non-conformances are identified.
  • Review internal and external documents including work instructions, procedures, customer specifications, 3rd party certificates.
  • Execute advanced quality planning, risk analysis, feasibility, and PPAP.
  • Establish, analyze, and report on quality indices, KPI's, objectives.
  • Regular analysis of organization's supplier base including annual reviews, improvement projects, and cost reductions.
  • Organize and hold routine quality meetings
  • Acts as a professional liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline OR equivalent experience with at least 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Aerospace industry experience and knowledge of thermal processing preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of the quality management systems: ISO, AS9100, NADCAP and quality standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing tools preferred.
  • Strong communication, analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and with customers.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Word, Excel & Access.
