Electrical Engineer (Failure Analyst) Level 3

Erdos Miller is a long-term focused company seeking an Electrical Engineer to drive investigative efforts in the failures of oil-field products. In this role, you will take substantial ownership of failure analysis on electronics used in harsh environments, as well as the systems in which they are used. Your findings will help drive improvements in real-world products that make a tangible impact.

Duties and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, ideally in industrial electronics
  • Broad understanding of Erdos Miller products and ability to support the production team
  • Strong understanding of systems and failure mechanisms, including:
    • Electronics used in harsh environments
    • Investigative data analysis
    • Mechanical elements in drilling applications
    • Some background in firmware
  • Ability for self-driven growth in electronics and system operations
  • Perform in-depth failure analysis and generate customer-facing reports
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Design experiments to recreate failures
  • Recommend design improvements based on root cause analysis
  • Develop and maintain fleet-wide failure metrics
  • Troubleshoot early failures in new production tools
Within 90 Days, you can expect to:
  • Familiarize yourself with standard RMAs processes
  • Learn standard processes for new production builds, including assembly, HASS, and calibration
  • Support engineering activities for RMAs, including reviewing run logs and visual hardware inspections
  • Assist with detailed failure analyses
Within 12 Months, you can expect to:
  • Own multiple failure analyses, including root cause and corrective actions
  • Support engineering for new production tools and RMAs
  • Report regularly on failure metrics
