The hybrid arrangement for this role involves working an average of 2-3 days per week on-site. The number of on-site work days varies and is dependent on business needs. Classification: Exempt Department: Human Resources Reports To: VP of HR & Community Position Overview: This position is responsible for providing subject matter expertise, managing, and administering all aspects of PDC's employee benefits programs. This includes processes related to plan compliance, team member education, analyzing benefits, retirement and wellness strategies, and presenting recommendations to Sr. Leadership. This includes conducting annual renewals with the insurance broker, leading annual open enrollment, collaborating with benefits providers, leading the company's wellness initiatives and analyzing workplace trends as it relates to employee benefits and wellness programs. This position is also responsible for leave of absence administration to include FMLA, ADA and worker's compensation management, while ensuring all duties are performed in compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities:

  • Leads the day-to-day and strategic administration of all employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, and other ancillary benefits.
  • Maintains and executes the annual compliance calendar ensuring all regulatory filings are completed in a timely and accurate manner, including 5500's, ACA, audit preparation, DOL etc.
  • Ensures seamless integration of benefits data within the HRIS system.
  • Sets up and monitors benefit payroll deductions for accuracy and ensures timely enrollment, changes, and terminations of employees in benefit plans.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries, resolving issues and providing guidance as needed.
  • Leads the relationship with benefits brokers (H&W and Retirement), ensuring effective communication, contract negotiations, and coordination of benefit plan changes.
  • Monitors and evaluates the performance and competitiveness of benefit programs, conducting regular assessments and recommending enhancements or adjustments as necessary.
  • Partners with 401k Investment Advisor on Quarterly Investment Committee Meetings.
  • Reviews and analyzes proposals from benefits brokers and makes recommendations to the Executive Leadership team based on cost, coverage, and quality of plans.
  • Leads and executes benefits-related communications, plan summaries, enrollment materials, educational sessions and annual open enrollment.
  • Conducts employee new hire orientations and regular benefits-related training sessions to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their benefits.
  • Leads the company wellness program by planning and coordinating activities such as health fairs, educational sessions, fitness challenges, and preventive screenings, and tracks participation.
  • Analyzes wellness program effectiveness through metrics and employee feedback to enhance the overall program, and maximize engagement and impact.
  • Administers various leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and workers' compensation.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining accurate records and managing related reporting obligations.
  • Educates employees and leaders on FMLA and ADA policies, procedures, and eligibility criteria.
  • Manages the workers' compensation claims process, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, and communication with injured employees. This includes partnering with the Safety Department on incident investigations and maintaining OSHA logs.
  • Collaborates with insurance carriers, medical providers, and the Safety Department to facilitate the return-to-work process for injured employees.
Additional duties:
  • Serves as a backup for payroll to cover absences and maintain knowledge of processing procedures.
  • Assists in the planning of company events/functions.
  • Serves as a key member on the Safety Committee.
  • Ensure physical and electronic labor law posters are kept up to date.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Solid understanding of employee benefits programs, including self insured health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave administration.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements, including FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation.
  • Proficient in using HRIS systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, benefit providers, and employees at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of data accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate benefits data and make informed recommendations.
  • Professional certifications in benefits administration or professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is a plus.
