Job Description :
JOB SUMMARY: Develops, oversees and administers programs to ensure the health, safety and wellness of the OSS Health employees. This encompasses Employee Health Compliance needs, administration of all FMLA and non-FMLA medical leaves, Worker's Compensation administration, and the promotion of a Safety Culture at OSS Health through initiatives and investigation of workplace incidents.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:Education:
  • LPN or RN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required. Prior experience in a similar role strongly preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, various online systems and an overall ability to easily adapt to new software.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively communicate to a wide audience.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to respond to changing needs and circumstances.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex and diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to build trust and rapport with employees who are dealing with personal health concerns or injury.
  • Must have Ergonomic assessment certification or the ability to obtain within first six months in the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Compliance
  • Ensures employee health guidelines as determined by the Joint Commission, Department of Health, OSHA and OSS Health policy are followed.
  • Provides new hire health screenings including PPD, drug screens and other required tests.
  • Coordinates and administers annual influenza vaccine for all staff.
  • Coordinates and administers respirator fit testing annually for appropriate staff.
  • Maintains various reports and metrics including OSHA Log, illness reporting, injury reports, etc.
Leave Program
  • Manages FMLA and Personal Leaves of Absence for all employees ensuring compliance and timely processing.
  • Serves as intermediary between employees and their Supervisors keeping both abreast of leave status.
  • Maintains STD/LTD documentation for those eligible.
  • Ensures returning employees are fit for duty.
  • Assesses, in collaboration with Supervisor and the HR Business Partner, the ability to accommodate any restrictions.
Workers' Compensation
  • Coordinates Workers' Compensation for OSS Health, including reporting, tracking the progress of each case and working with the employee and carrier to return to pre-injury status/employment.
  • Provides case management as needed for more difficult injuries that impede the employees' ability to return as anticipated.
  • Develops action plans to decrease any repetitive injuries such as needle sticks, slips/trips/falls, back injuries, etc.
  • In collaboration with Supervisors, investigates injuries and provides suggested alterations to process or practice to avoid future incidents.
  • Reports and maintains records for all injuries.
Safety
  • Collaborates with other colleagues throughout the organization to address concerns and hazards, such as Risk, Infection Control and Facilities Departments.
  • Promotes the reporting of safety concerns by employees and responds to concerns in a timely and personal manner.
  • Participates in Safety Committee reporting on injuries, providing educational material for employee review and fostering a safety culture.
  • Assists in evaluating PPE.
  • Investigates accidents and injuries and/or illnesses, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety and environmental rules and regulations. Maintains appropriate records in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:No direct reports.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers, physicians and the public. Ability to speak and understand English fluently.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Light physical effort; some standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping; manual dexterity to operate keyboard and other equipment.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
