On a typical day you will:
- Lead conversations amid cross functional teams (quality, manufacturing, procurement) to drive the best financial outcome for your P&L.
- Negotiate supplier volume allocations, identify cost optimization solutions.
- Ensure 100% compliance with P5 sourcing policy, by reporting and seeking approvals for price variance. Ensure that the key indicators (raw material dashboard), systems (JDE prices) are up to date.
- Study raw material market dynamics, identify risk and opportunities, provide synthetic analyses to Otis leadership.
- Ensure cadence raw materials price update in JDE. Lead raw material direct-buy strategy and work with other mechanical categories managers responsible for fabrication suppliers.
- Be the supplier's relationship owner for assigned suppliers. Act as an escalation point (after Business Partner) internally to support Operations, Engineering and other critical functions.
- Oversee raw material planning and cost-saving projects execution, while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Drive North American localization initiatives to reduce tariff exposure related to raw materials.
- Manage the Raw Material Dashboard to support data-driven decisions through quantitative analysis and risk/opportunity modeling.
What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree in supply chain management
- Experience in sourcing metal products is a plus
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation and modeling
- Solid financial acumen paired with effective communication abilities
- Proven ability to think creatively and influence peers and other functions as a strong team player
- Expertise in converting units of measure, including pounds, kilos, short tons, metric tons, gauges, and mm/cm
- Demonstrated capability in solving complex problems, taking full responsibility, driving impactful results, and thinking strategically
- Strong ownership and accountability for managing a $50M+ profit and loss
- Must be able to travel up to 25%
