This full-time position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to essential municipal services while supporting internal operations and providing top-tier service to our residents.As the Management Analyst - Public Works, you will be the first point of contact for the department, handling inquiries from the public, conducting research, and performing administrative and analytical tasks. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient operations, responsive customer service, and strong interdepartmental collaboration.*Applications will be reviewed as they are received* Examples of Duties
  • Serve as the public-facing contact for the Public Works and Engineering Department via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Respond to resident inquiries regarding parkway trees, utility services, drainage, street and sidewalk repairs, traffic signs and signals, streetlights and more.
  • Researches and gathers data for analysis, including cost-benefit, production efficiencies, capital planning, budgeting, and procurement. Converts data into action that shapes responsible decisions.
  • Assists in coordinating department accreditation through the American Public Works Association (APWA) accreditation program to help ensure the department attains and maintains accreditation standards required by the APWA.
  • Support the department with billing, purchasing, payroll inquiries, and FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests.
  • Actively participate in the Village's Communications Team and assist with online visitor inquiries through the Village website.
  • Performs special and ongoing assignments of a programmatic or administrative nature, monitors program results and recommends policy/procedure modifications to key members of the Public Works Department.
Qualifications Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, business administration, public administration, or related field.
  • Experience in administrative, analytical, or municipal government roles preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Licensing:
  • Valid Illinois driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
