Location: Los Angeles, CA

Pay: $111,000 - $134,000 annually

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is seeking a mission-driven Finance Director to lead financial strategy and operations for a prominent nonprofit organization in Los Angeles. This critical leadership role reports directly to the CEO/Senior Pastor and will oversee all financial systems and infrastructure while managing a dedicated finance team.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Oversight:
  • Direct all accounting, payroll, and financial reporting activities.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of 6 staff members handling daily financial operations.
  • Evaluate financial systems and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and transparency.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership and the Board.
Budgeting & Compliance:
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Ensure timely compliance with tax reporting requirements and nonprofit financial regulations.
  • Lead the annual audit process, from timeline planning through execution of post-audit corrective actions.
Operational & Team Development:
  • Promote cross-training and professional development within the finance team.
  • Foster a collaborative and solutions-focused culture aligned with ministry goals.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and opportunities for improved financial efficiency.
Internal Controls & Reporting:
  • Regularly assess and update internal controls to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
  • Establish checks and balances for financial transparency and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain financial accountability for grant-funded programs and special projects.
Stakeholder Communication:
  • Prepare presentations and deliver financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and congregation.
  • Coordinate annual business meetings with cross-departmental teams to showcase ministry accomplishments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Masters or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial leadership; nonprofit or ministry setting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong time management, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Innovative, systems-minded leader capable of implementing scalable solutions.
