The NAC is a member-based club dedicated to offering enriching, high-quality experiences that promote wellness, community, and lifelong learning. We are introducing a new garden-focused program and are seeking a skilled Gardening Specialist to bring this vision to life. Position Overview: The Gardening Specialist will lead the creation and upkeep of our on-site garden while also curating interactive, educational gardening experiences for our members. This is an opportunity to shape a hands-on, seasonal program that brings joy, relaxation, and sustainability into our club environment. Position RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and install a seasonal or year-round garden space
- Oversee day-to-day garden care including planting, weeding, irrigation, composting, and harvesting
- Offer guidance and one-on-one instruction to interested members
- Lead workshops and classes on topics like home gardening, herbs, container planting, and organic practices
- Collaborate with club staff to align gardening programming with seasonal events or wellness offerings
- Maintain a clean, beautiful, and functional garden area that reflects the club's high standards
- Recommend and manage supplies, tools, and planting schedules
- Promote eco-friendly and sustainable gardening techniques
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in horticulture, landscaping, or hands-on gardening
- Passion for teaching and engaging with people of all ages and skill levels
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Professional, friendly demeanor appropriate for a private club environment
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks in a variety of weather conditions
- (Preferred) Experience in community, educational, or hospitality settings
