Job Description

Wonderful Orchards is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager – FinancialReporting to join our corporate team in Shafter, CA. This is a key leadership role for a seasonedaccounting professional responsible for supporting the financial integrity and reportingcapabilities of one of the largest agricultural operations in the country.

Reporting directly to the Controller, this position will lead the financial reporting function,ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of key financial information. We're looking fora results-oriented leader with strong technical skills, a process improvement mindset, and acommitment to team development in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesFunctions include but are not limited to the following. Must be able to move freely between tasksdepending on workload and business prioritiesThis role is responsible for overseeing key accounting operations, ensuring accuracy inreporting, and maintaining compliance across entities. Responsibilities include:

General Ledger ManagementOversee accounting operations to ensure the general ledger is accurate, complete, andcompliant across multiple entities.

Financial Close ProcessManage and streamline the monthly closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financialreporting.

Financial ReportingOversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financialstatements, including detailed variance analysis, to meet reporting requirements.

Financial ConsolidationsLead the consolidation of financial results across business units, maintaining and enhancingthe consolidation system. Coordinate with corporate team on enterprise-wide financialreporting requirements.

Audit CoordinationServe as the primary contact for external auditors. Prepare audit schedules and financialstatements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and address audit inquiries.

Lease and Revenue AccountingMaintain compliance with lease accounting standards (Lease Accelerator) and ensureaccurate revenue recognition processes and documentation.Account ReconciliationsReview and approve monthly account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment withcorporate policy.

Intercompany AlignmentWork with sister companies and corporate team to align intercompany balances andreporting.

Process ImprovementIdentify and implement best practices to enhance accounting procedures, controls, andsystems.

Project Support and Ad-Hoc InitiativesContribute to special projects and respond to executive requests with relevant financial input.

Team ManagementSupervise and support accounting team to ensure efficient day-to-day operations with focuson career development and learning.

Operational SupportParticipate in finance leadership activities and help improve accounting practices across theorganization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business with an accounting emphasis.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and general ledger
  • management, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • CPA designation and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, Financial Consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience analyzing financial data with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience managing and mentoring accounting team.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills .
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (Oracle EBS a plus)
  • Familiarity with business intelligence/reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, orsimilar is preferred.

Pay Range:$140,000 - $160,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
