ABOUT THIS POSITIONThe City of Phoenix Public Works Department is looking for Equipment Service Worker IIs to perform skilled servicing, mechanical maintenance, and minor repairs to automotive, heavy duty, and other motorized equipment.Responsibilities include:* Performing routine servicing and maintenance of engines, transmissions, chassis, air conditioning, and tune-ups.* Repairing and replacing wheel bearings and brakes.* Balancing tires and wheels; and patching and repairing tires.* Work also involves maintaining service parts and inventory records and installing and fabricating City decals, light bar kits, arrow boards, dash switches, electrical wiring, gauges, and other equipment and components.IDEAL CANDIDATE* General knowledge of all vehicular systems including and not limited to engine, transmission, chassis, air conditioning, hydraulics, electrical, and tune-up.* Trade school/apprenticeship certificate and/or vocational training.SALARYPay Range: $20.51 to $30.31 per hour.Hiring Range: $20.51 to $24.93 per hour.Pay Range Explanation:* Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.* Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
