Job Title:Director of OperationsReports To:Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Position Summary:

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all operational functions within the Clean organization across Minnesota, Albuquerque (New Mexico), and Ventura (California). This role provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality service, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and overall branch profitability. The Director of Operations plays a critical role in driving accountability, fostering a culture of excellence, and supporting long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the COO to develop and implement annual budgets, with a focus on managing expenses including labor, supplies, equipment, and other operational costs.
  • Establish and communicate clear performance standards related to profitability, customer service, and service quality.
  • Represent the company well in customer meetings, email and phone communications.
  • Lead regular meetings with direct reports to develop talent, mentor team members, and drive accountability.
  • Ensure all branch operations function efficiently, effectively, and profitably.
  • Maintain a professional company image through proper branding of employees, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with standards.
  • Assess and manage equipment, vehicle, and supply needs across all Clean divisions.
  • Complete annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all services provided by the company.
  • Enforce company policies and ensure organization-wide compliance.
  • Model and promote safe work practices; ensure all teams meet safety standards and follow protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing industry training and professional development programs.
  • Monitor and hold all branches accountable for labor costs and expense control.
  • Ensure all compliance tasks are completed accurately and on time within operating systems.
  • Maintain or exceed minimum threshold performance across all key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate as a positive and proactive team member to support company-wide objectives.
  • Participate in required training and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the COO.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive industry leadership experience in operations or facilities management.
  • Demonstrated success in multi-site or multi-state operational oversight.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and drive accountability.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards, safety practices, and operational best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational systems; ability to learn company-specific
  • platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel regularly between branches and work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR background check
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel throughout the organization including branches in MN, NM, and CA.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift overhead, and move up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to be on feet and walking sites throughout the day.
  • Must be available for occasional after-hours emergencies or operational support.
