As our business continues to build momentum, we are looking for our first Human Resources Director to join our team, based in our Salt Lake City office. The HR Director will provide HR leadership and day-to-day support for 401GO employees nationwide, to help drive business results through people-centric initiatives. These initiatives will align with the entire employee life cycle to include recruitment, onboarding, total rewards, org development, performance, engagement and offboarding.

Who We're Looking For

  • You've previously led the people function at a B2B SaaS startup.
  • You are well-rounded in all parts of HR and keep up to date on compliance requirements.
  • You enjoy building and are savvy at vacillating between strategy and tactical execution.
  • You have a reputation for building an employee experience people don't forget.
  • You are a master at balancing HR execution against the needs of the business and financial state.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive key HR initiatives across the business, including recruiting, performance management, engagement, compensation planning, succession planning, training and development, rewards & recognition, organizational design & effectiveness and employee communication.
  • Oversee benefits administration and own new hire benefit enrollment.
  • Lead our talent strategy and actively recruit for open roles across the organization.
  • Help develop and implement HR practices and procedures aligned to meet the needs of the organization. Provide interpretation on company policies & procedures.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback at all levels of the organization and assist managers in employee counseling and development of performance improvement plans.
  • Work with managers to build a career path for employees, identifying opportunities for training, new skill acquisition, and advancement.
  • Partner with hiring manager to create an exceptional onboarding program for new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with employment practices and applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Function as integral part of the management team.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressively responsible HR generalist/manager experience, including diversified recruiting and staffing
  • Excellent leadership, critical thinking, problem solving, project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills
  • Strong client-support orientation and employee relations skill set
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to execute both strategic and tactical priorities
  • Demonstrated coaching/mentoring/leadership skills; change agent
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong influencing and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable State and Federal employment laws and general business practices
  • Solid business acumen
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study
Preferred Knowledge & Background
  • Previously owned the People strategy in a B2B start-up company
  • Hybrid/fully distributed location experience
  • Demonstrated success with driving employee engagement and culture
  • Experience as a versatile, full stack people leader who can operate both as a strategic business partner as well as being a hands-on operator who won't shy away from stepping into the details of people operations activities
